The Multicultural History Society of Ontario (MHSO) completed a 3-year project to create an online digital archive of oral history interviews, historical photographs, ethnic newspapers, etc., called: Discovering Multicultural Canada.
We were charged to create a fresh, engaging contemporary brand logo and launch poster that spoke directly to their primary audience of post-secondary students, educators, researchers and genealogists.
We designed a dynamic, vibrant logo based on a matrix of circles forming the letter “D”. The colours blue, red and green were assigned to the circles reflecting the historical, cultural and ethic diversity of Canada. Some of the circles were strategically removed, in order to give the appearance of the ethic groups migrating together to form the logo.
